The Datalogic Lynx BT reader completes Datalogic Scanning's industrial product portfolio by offering a cordless solution for 2D applications. Featuring Bluetooth® wireless communications the reader can transmit data to the host through its base/charger (OM-1000) as well as any commercial or embedded Bluetooth® v1.2 compliant device.

Featuring omnidirectional reading on a wide range of symbologies, the Lynx BT reader decodes the most common 1D and 2D codes including stacked and postal codes no matter how the code is oriented. It is also able to capture signatures or images of objects such as shipping damage documentation To increase efficiency, it can also decode all the codes found in the captured image. The captured image can be processed on board, or downloaded in different formats (.bmp, .jpg, .tif) for image processing on the host side. Up to 4 acquisition options allow image manipulation: zoom (from 20% to 200%), contrast, brightness (±100%) and windowing.

Aiming at the image to be captured is easy and intuitive, with the double-click trigger that enables the Datalogic 5-dot aimer, marking the four corners and center of the reading area.

The base station/charger is equipped with a multi-standard interface for connection to the host via USB (COM and Wedge Emulation), RS-232 or Wedge Emulation. VisualSetup^TM, the software tool included in the package, allows easy configuration of all the parameters to personalize the reader for any application through a RS-232 interface, as well as providing a quick view of the downloaded images.

An imager is a Barcode Scanner that really functions more like a digital camera than a laser scanner, and is capable of reading two-dimensional symbologies. Rather than bouncing one or several beams of intense light off of a barcode, the imager bounces a burst of light off of the barcode and back into a camera-like eye, essentially taking a picture. Unlike a laser scanner the imager does not need the barcode to be oriented in anyway (other than within the scan area) in order to be legible.
