Nordic ID RF651 with Bluetooth Access Server
The Nordic ID RF651 is a part of a unique wireless data collection system that consists of several handheld units and access servers. The data collected using the RF651 is encrypted and transmitted to the customer application. This can be running either on a personal computer or on a large information system. The access servers are linked to the host system through the Ethernet network. The applications run on the host computer, which means that the Nordic ID RF651s need no programming. Data transmission takes place in real-time. Developing and updating the applications is extremely easy.
The Nordic ID RF651 is the first hand terminal to support Bluetooth roaming. So extending the coverage area can be done by just adding another access server to the system. With the access servers it is also able to connect any Bluetooth supporting device to the network and have a complete solution for your needs.
Rapid deployment via USB in small environments
In a small business where only few people are using a handheld at a time and where the operational area is not large such as a kiosk, small shop or petrol station, the RF651 is a perfect choice. The Nordic ID RF651 utilises a Bluetooth USB adapter to form a network serving up to seven Bluetooth devices. The installation is simple, just plug in the USB adapter into the USB port, install Nordic ID's port router software and you are ready. (Nordic ID Port Router is sold separately.) Solutions for RF651 can include mobile printing with Bluetooth printers or other Bluetooth devices.
GETTING STARTED WITH BLUETOOTH AT LOW COST
In the simplest configuration, a Bluetooth USB Dongle is used enabling the connection of up to seven Nordic ID RF 651 wireless terminals to a PC or a point of sale system - making the introduction of mobile data collection very cost-efficient. The data collected are transmitted via Bluetooth. This is done in real time and via encrypted transmission. Nordic ID RF651 uses Class 1 Bluetooth technology to connect to the network with a range of up to 100 m. BARCODE DATA COLLECTION
The mobile terminal optionally features a laser scanner or a CCD scanner. The large, illuminated display can be easily read even in poorly lit areas. FULLY UPGRADABLE SYSTEM
By integrating Nordic ID Access Servers, the basic Bluetooth network can be upgraded to form a wireless network. Up to 21 data collection devices are able to communicate with one access server. In this way, the data collection system can be conveniently extended whenever required. At the same time the individual mobile data collection devices are not linked to a certain Access Server but are able to receive and send data from all Access Servers while operating (Roaming). All Access Servers are provided with an integrated TCP/IP network connection and linked to the host system via LAN. The central application can be run on a server or a PC. Staff using the Nordic ID RF651 can access e.g. current stock information, orders placed or all product information at any time. Updates and system modifications are carried out centrally in a timesaving manner. QUICK IMPLEMENTATION
The system is very easy to install and ready for full use within only a few minutes by simply connecting the wireless terminals to the previously configured Access Servers or the Bluetooth Dongle. Both these alternatives also allow Bluetooth printers or other Bluetooth appliances to be integrated into the system. With the free ActiveX functional library software, applications are quickly realized. As the software runs on a central host system, there is no need for time-consuming installations on terminals. The applications are instantly ready for use. The Nordic ID RF601 is available in anthracite and sapphire blue - however, optional colors reflecting the corporate design of the user company are also possible on request.
