Medical systems use RFID to optimize costs, availability and traceability for all kind of medical items delivered to and used in hospitals, like orthopedic implants, blood bags, instruments and other goods. In most of the situations these goods are made of metal, contain liquids or stack closely which poses many challenges for commonly used RFID technologies.
