Diebold Nixdorf KA17 Cash Drawer is an easy-to-use, compact cash drawer designed with security in mind. Sitting directly below the POS system’s central unit, the KA17 offers retailers a solution that can be used in both domestic and international markets.
Diebold Nixdorf KA17 Cash Drawer is environmentally friendly cash drawer which puts the focus on security. It is mounted directly under the central unit of the POS system and connected via the interface provided for the BEETLE POS family for cash collection or a POS printer with a cash interface (RJ12).
Diebold Nixdorf KA17 Secure Cash Drawer with it's cash compartments of the KA17 are divided into two units, one over the other. The upper unit is divided crosswise and may be slid to the rear, exposing the lower unit. The front part of the upper unit contains a removable compartment divided into eight cash boxes. The rear part contains four compartments that store banknotes lengthwise. The lower unit has enough space to store large rolls of money and coins. When the cash compartment is removed from the drawer, it functions as a safe. Up to 30 different combinations are available for locking the compartment.

FUNCTIONALITY - When POS activities are in progress, the compact drawer is opened by the system’s software. In order to remove the compartment, a cash trough mounted on telescopic rails can be pulled out completely. During shift changes, the compartment can be closed using a cover stored in the drawer, then removed by the staff. The two extra openings in the front panel of the drawer allow checks, documents and credit notes to be inserted without the drawer open.
SECURITY CONCEPTS - The cash compartment functions as a safe when removed from the drawer. This allows staff to remove the locked compartment whenever the checkout desk is left unattended. Up to 30 different combinations are available for locking the compartment, making the KA17 compatible with international security regulations.
CONNECTIVITY - The KA17 can connect directly at the BEETLE POS family's designated cash-loading interface. It can also connect to checkout printers with cash-loading interfaces (RJ12).
COMPARTMENT DESIGNS - The cash compartments in the KA17 are divided into two units, one situated on top of the other. The upper unit is divided crossways enabling it to be pushed backwards, which exposes the lower unit. The front section of the upper unit contains a removable compartment which is divided into eight cash boxes. The rear section includes four compartments which store bank notes lengthways. The lower unit provides enough space to store large bank rolls and coin rolls.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION - Active environmental protection is part and parcel of the Diebold Nixdorf philosophy. To meet those standards, the KA17's casing consists of plastic housing components made out of environment-friendly material. These components are marked accordingly and are fully recyclable.
