With its elegant design in timeless black and reliable mechanics, the T-40 is thus suited for retail just as much as for hospitality. Thanks to its simple handling even new employees quickly become familiar with the device.
Receipt output is either on the front or the top, depending on which option better fits the work area. However, this does not mean that the printer needs to be pulled out in order to exchange print materials: even the receipt roll may be inserted from the top or the front, depending on the need. With a diameter of 82.5 mm the large roll capacity of the T-40 ensures that roll changes are seldom occurrences. In case of a paper jam the entire paper feed mechanism lies conveniently under the housing cover. This way, interruptions during operation are kept as low and short as possible, while productivity increases.
Despite its compact size the Metapace T-40 achieves a print speed of 250 mm/sec. at a resolution of 203 dpi, as well as in various shades of grey. The results are texts, graphics, logos, barcodes and more in pinpoint sharp quality. Users may also use it as support for their customer loyalty activities, by directly printing vouchers, discount coupons and more directly at the POS. The print width is either 57.5, 80 or 82.5 mm. A fully automatic cutter is also integrated: printed receipts are cleanly cut from the receipt roll, but not completely: this keeps them from moving on their own, since they hang on the output until there are needed.
The printer is compatible with Windows, Linux, OPOS and JPOS and is equipped with 2 MB RAM and 4 MB Flash memory. A broad spectrum of sensors, including a near paper end, black mark recognition and print head temperature always informs the user about the printer's status. By the way: the print head is also exchanged without a lot of time or work effort. This keeps users from getting frustrated with the device and allows the device to quickly return to operation. This aspect also allows the T-40 to reduce interruptions to an absolute minimum.
Metapace is known for devices which are immediately ready for use out-of-the-box, and this printer is no exception: included in the scope of delivery are the device itself, the power, USB and RS232 cables, a quick-start guide and the first receipt roll. A further quality of the T-40 is its triple interface: USB, RS232 and Ethernet ports significantly simplify integration. There is also a port for a cash drawer.
The T-40 is designed for long-term performance. The print head alone has a life cycle of 150 km printed receipts, or 70 million printed lines. The cutter handles approximately 2 million cuts before you need to even think about replacing it. A full 36-month warranty rounds out the Metapace T-40.
