The Micro X II is constructed to perform under extreme heat and repeated exposure to caustic fluids for applications such as hot water wash cycles. ATEX certified for use in explosive atmospheres where customers can be assured that, with great performance, safety has not been compromised.
Xerafy MicroX II UHF RFID tags are specifically designed to be the smallest and most rugged RFID-on-metal tags in the world for industrial markets where critical and potentially hazardous situations require reliable identification of assets.
Xerafy’s patented RF antenna design provides an unrivaled performance-to-size ratio, reducing tag size and allowing customers to attach Micro X II tags to small metallic assets that have been too challenging to track in the past.
The durable MicroX II Series can survive temperatures of up to 482°F (250°C) and other harsh elements such as high impact and caustic chemicals. X II tags are constructed with robust materials and rated IP68 for high reliability and durability in all types of environments.
They integrate the latest IC technology to deliver the industry’s best performance and memory size while conforming to EPC Class 1 Gen 2 specifications.
Xerafy products are guaranteed for the highest quality and excellence and meet the industry’s stringent safety and security requirements.

Rugged Metal Tags
patented RF antenna design provides an unrivaled performance-to-size ratio, reducing tag size and allowing customers to attach RFID tags to small metallic assets that have been too challenging to track in the past.
Passive RFID technology looks like the only feasible solution in waste management due to the high volume of containers. Durable tags that are fire resistant, tamper-proof, and can withstand both high and low temperature conditions are often demanded for the waste collection operation. Powered by RFID, web-based solution acts like a business intelligence tool. Vehicles, personnel, the weights of each and every container, locations, all of them can be managed with one single platform.
Xerafy’s MicroX II Series of UHF RFID tags are specifically designed to be the smallest and most rugged RFID-on-metal tags in the world for industrial markets where critical and potentially hazardous situations require reliable identification of assets.
Mecca in Saudi Arabia selected E-vision to deploy its innovative waste collection solution alongside 15,000 rugged RFID tags from Xerafy activated in the field.
Xerafy, the global leader powering data through innovation to transform industries and lives, has announced that Saudi Arabian city Mecca has deployed Xerafy’s Micro X II RFID tags to successfully manage thousands of waste collection bins. Using Xerafy’s rugged tags and a software solution from E-vision, the city now has real-time visibility into its waste collection activities and vehicle fleet.
Mecca was looking for a way to track the status of trash bins as well as the location of its waste collection vehicles.
In order to better service customers, the city wanted to be able to confirm that each trash bin had been emptied into the collection vehicle, enable automated electronic communications from the trucks to the operations office, and minimize human intervention in data collection activities.
Mecca selected the RFID-based waste management solution from Riyadh-based E-vision . The company provided its innovative Waste Collection solution, along with rugged tags from Xerafy, a customized GPS tracking device, and RFID readers from ThingMagic.
Mecca is leveraging several modules of E-Vision’s Waste Collection software, including Complaint Management, Fleet Management, Tracking, and other customized services. E-vision also created a communication board to manage the hardware tracking functionality.
“Waste collection is a challenging environment for data collection,” said Tarek Fawaz, Technical Manager at E-vision. “Xerafy has provided us with RFID tags that are uniquely suited to the environment in Saudi Arabia, and that are rugged enough to resist the shock and vibration the waste bins are exposed to.”
Mecca is able to track which containers have been emptied and when, and can also track and manage its vehicle fleet in real time. Using the Complaints Management module, customers and supervisors can record any problems or violations via mobile app, and submit the issue to the company as well as track and confirm resolution. Managers can also monitor performance and generate a wide variety of reports based on the RFID data.
“By combining our durable tags with E-vision’s software capabilities, Mecca has been able to achieve an unprecedented level of visibility,” said Dennis Khoo, Xerafy CEO and founder. “Xerafy’s tags are uniquely constructed to withstand the harsh environments of the emerging waste management market.”
With the system successfully in operation for nearly three years, Mecca and E-vision are now developing a new device with a built-in RFID reader to improve data collection, as well as enhancing the software user interface and redesigning the software architecture in preparation for a transition to Cloud hosting.
